How An Idea Became a Business...

Javalution Coffee Company was founded in 2003, by two friends who were looking for a way to stay fit and have more energy without major lifestyle changes. They realized that a great way to do that would be with a product that most adults enjoy every day as one of life's simple pleasures, deeply felt – coffee!

JavaFit coffee is the brainchild of Scott Pumper, who serves as the company's President. Scott was intrigued by the explosive growth of companies like SOBE and the emergence of vitamin water in the fortified food category. Why wasn't anyone doing this with coffee? He collaborated with respected sports nutrition scientist Dr. Jose Antonio, who developed the formula for perfectly blended, delicious gourmet coffee combined with scientifically-proven fortified nutrients. The result was JavaFit.

In 2007, Dave Briskie, a JavaFit investor, joined as the company's CEO. Dave had had a successful 18-year career highlighted by the merger of three companies, two of which he had helped launch, that ultimately became public on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange. Javalution Coffee Company, under Briskie's leadership, made its first major strategic investment by acquiring a 50% stake in its coffee roaster (CLR Roasters) in November, 2007. Javalution increased its stake in CLR Roasters to 85%, then to 100%. As Dave explained, "By owning CLR Roasters, JavaFit can directly control the quality every step of the way when roasting our coffees. This is a huge competitive advantage."

With the best coffee in the world and a strong leadership team, JavaFit was ready to take its coffee straight to consumers. Scott and Dave knew that the power of thousands of home-based direct selling businesses.
